HALLOWEEN!!!
It’s Halloween…
In Kyoto, nobody really celebrates Halloween but I wanted to decorate the house and so I started to brainstorm. I realized that Halloween spiders only have two eyes when they actually have eight, so I decided that I wanted to create something more realistic for myself. I first bought some balloons at the 100 yen store and started making the papier-mâché. I’ve used some newspaper for the first layer, then used a bit of Japanese paper for the 2nd layer on the 2nd day. I then started painting with acrylic gouache and came up with some of the designs on the spot, depending on the shape of the ballon. It’s nice to do something just for fun, once in a while.
